i always always always check prices on summit. not to mention their shipping costs are VERY favorable or you can pick them. i might drive to the Reno summit and pick this set up when go visit my girlfriends mom.
if i was doing a performance application and had more time/money i would.
1. cut off manifold flanges from catalytic assembly, weld in new 2" down pipes and put flanges on them where the universal dual 2" in/2" out cat can bolt up too.
2. make a test pipe for a "cat delete"
3. make an x pipe before the cat.
4. get rid of resonators
5. keep the stock muffler.

Originally posted by ptownTSIthe summit cat has 2 inlet pipes and 2 outlets. read the specs about the item.
and while $89 shipped sounds better than $249 shipped, i will pay at least $250 in custom fab costs to get the universal one installed.

you cant just weld that universal cat in there. the factory cat is a humongous piece that will need to be cut out. so the shop will need to pretty much run all new piping from the resonators back which would probably cost $150. and if i was doing that much i'd just have them get rid of the resonators, put in an x pipe, and then weld up the cat.
at $80/hr for the muffler shops around here. it cost me $160 to have a cat installed with a test pipe on my jeep. flanges were put on the cat, the test pipe, the main muffler piping. that was for only a single cat, with 2 flanges.
