    Lighting issues

    Hello all,

My left turn signal is all messed up. When I bought the car and activated the left turn signal it would do the typical fast clicking because the left front was out. I replaced the left front turn signal bulb. I did this during the day. I found it odd that even though the bulb was replaced and working that it still blinked rapidly. Tonight I drove the car at night for the first time since replacing the bulb. Upon activating my headlights the gauge cluster indicated that the turn signal was permanently on. Not blinking. So, when my lights are off the turn signal works but blinks rapidly. When lights are on the turn signal just stays lit and does not work. Nor does my rear turn signal. Then, if we want to dig deeper, when my headlights are on they are fine. When I activate my high beams the headlight on the right side turns off and both the low and high function on the left side. So, is my switch completely screwed or does this have something to do with the relays? Car is an 87 325e. Thanks in advance.

I guess I'll apologize in advance for not posting this in the cosmetics and appearance section.

Sounds like the ground in the front socket is bad. DB cars frequently have corroded pins in the plug, especially if your car came from the rust belt.

The indicator coming on also suggests something isn't right with the rear turn signal either.

Appreciate it. Makes trouble shooting a lot easier. When I switched the bulb out I also noticed that the screw for the lens really did not want to tighten. So it seems as though it is stripped and not tightening all the way so I'm guessing it's letting some moisture in.
