Can I do this?

Yes, it is relatively easy to do, however you will need a heat shield, as you will actually lose horsepower if you stick one in without a heatshield.
Even with one, the gains aren't that great. My mountains are better than yours. -
It's some kind of Ram Air, as I could see in my friend's car, the fliter goes all the way front (in the airdam) recieving just cool air from the outside. Why would I need a hietshield?

Don't need a heat shield. I've seen tests on E30's done, the location of the M20's intake is at a cool place in the engine compartment. The power gain w/ or w/o a shield is negligable because the hp gain per degree is very very small.
Now if you were going to cut out the headlight and get a ram air setup going, then we might be talking actual full integer figures. ;)-Brandon

Gracias, mine's made by Zender, but I don't believe they produce it anymore. Try Racing Dynamics, I believe they make one still. Also, keep an eye on eBay, there are frequently rear skirts for aluminum bumpers on there.BTW, Nice looking ETA, I've been looking for a rear apron for a long time and still not found nothing, have a nice day-Brandon

racing dynamics doesn't make kits for the E30's anymore. tehy were thinking about doing another run, but their molds were made back in teh day when there was a small % of shrinkage in the plastics tehy used, but now, due to 0% shrinkage plastics, their molds are too large. and so they decided to scrap the project.
BTW, I heard this from Fredrico himself. I even tried to fit the new front skirt they made w/ the old mold onto my car, there was no way it would fit... too large... T_T
I liked their kit too...
I think Electrodyne might still be making the RD knockoff kits though... u might want to try that.Comment

Also Zender. I was fortunate to buy the car with them on there 5 years ago, not even knowing that they weren't factory. Not very common in the midwest.-Brandon

I know a guy here in town with such a kit and on rainy days his cone sucks water
I don't think it is a good system if you live in a country were it often rains
