Hey guys, the other day my economy meter stopped working and my throttle response is way off, especially when blipping on downshifts, and the car seems to be dumping excess fuel. Does this all point towards a faulty tps?
cheers!
TPS only reports three states, throttle closed (idle), throttle open (but not how much), and throttle wide open. Shouldn't affect econometer. Maybe could make the engine run rich if it was misreporting as the throttle was closing. Seems like you've got more going on than the TPS.
Anyway, easy enough to check it out if you have a DMM or test light.

*problem fixed*
Car started flooding itself when trying to start up, and would occasionally choke out and stall when idling. +was still dumping major fuel. Decided to pull a spark plug and sure enough the plugs were fowled in a major way.
What did it I think was they were needing to be changed, and then we had a cold snap which caused the car to run extra rich and push them over the line. New set of NGK's and it's running smooth as silk again.
How it brought the econometer back to life, I'm not so sure but I'm happy to have it fixed
