    Fusable link help.

Been trying to trouble shoot why my car won't start. Came across a couple fusable link threads and I think that's gonna be the fix. One question I have is what fuse amperage do I need for the fuse holder to mimmick what the fusable link was putting out. REALOEM says 50A's but i just want some input from r3v thanks for any help guys.

if your referring to the fuse link in the main cable from battery in trunk ,50 amps is not enough as the starter will draw up to 1300 initially then drop to around 150A once motor is spinning , its probably a 500A slow blow fuse link

Yes I'm referring to the fuse link thats in the main cable leading from the battery to the DME.

This is one of the threads where The fuse holder swap is shown as a fix to the no start issue.

Then this realoem link shows the amperage of the fusable link (#14)

ah ok thats in a smaller feed not the main cable to the starter so yes 50A should be fine

yeah the power running through that fuse goes to the DME and other crucial components during startup. so there's not a massive pull like what a starter would generate. 50amp should be kosher

Thank you guys. Just wanted to chime in with r3v because I know realoem can be a hit or miss sometimes.

Actually, it's 80a. I just did this last week.
