wow this 325is i bought makes SOOO much noise

Going to have to do alot of trouble shooting before its a daily driver, so for now its going to sit and be my cheap insurance car.

it makes a whining noise when you turn the wheel at a stop more than half a turn, either a loose belt or low fluid eh?

it makes an awful groaning noise at all speeds.

the rpm's dont come down when i push the clutch in while rolling at speed

sometimes i will stop and the rpm's will climb to 2,000, then i put it in reverse or 1st and let the cluth out a bit, put it back in park and it goes back to a smooth idle about 800 or so.

it feels unstable at speed, like bad struts/shocks. i know it needs new swaybar bushings. this car obviously lived a VERY hard life.

the plugs are fouled platinums (have NGK's to put in)

BUT, the sunroof works, the heater and A/C work, it has a good head gasket (NO smoke, NO foamy/milky oil). the power mirrors work, the windows... so its not all bad.

humm, that is kind of a lot wrong, but you never know how much it will cost. The idle may just be some type of electrical problem, and you may just need to adjust some things. Who knows, but when it comes to suspension and steering, you will definatly be spending some money.

If you do it yourself I bet you could have it running like clockwork for $1200 or less.

Hey! This is no problem! Consider it a boost for when you're Heel-Toeing!!! Haha! Good luck with the car! And do it all yerself, nothings more rewarding!

ya i'm not going to give up on it. and from what i've read on the forums, most e30's are in various stages of dying and needing lots of replacement stuff anyways. mines just a little more severe.

Mine was in serious need of artificial resesitation when I bought it.. but of course most all sub $500 E30s are.

at least the oil pan isnt cracked, ftw. it could use a new seal though. i think every seal except the head gasket and camshaft seals i replaced are bad. or at least leaking slowly. it really just needs a good cleaning to see what the leaks really look like. 18 1/2 years of a slow leak adds up.

you bought an e30 basketcase for a daily driver? hahahaha.

good luck with that. i bought my ex's friend's eta with the shittiest maintence record and was flogged with nothing but nightmares.

bmws don't like it when you don't treat them right. $450 might have sounded like a deal, but you landed yourself into a pit of expensives.

and why NGKs? OEM plugs are the way to go.

i just went with what alot of the guys on here had mentioned. and it was that the ngk's were a great plug.

its not a daily driver, no no no. not safe right now. my daily driver is a 4x4 ford ranger.
