    what springs with bilstein HD?

i know i will blow these shocks out with most lowering springs.. i was wondering if i could maybe run them with H&R OE shocks... my 325is is contender for 4x4 of the year.. and i would like to lower it a tad, at least back to stock height! (HDs raise it ever so slightly).. how about taking the spring pads out.. good/bad idea?

    Thanks

Depending on how much you lower it, but I don't think you'll have a problem with retaining the HDs. I have never seen shock absorbers raise vehicle height. Some one correct me if im wrong. ...

I wouldn't take the spring pads out, you will probably create some squeaks and rattles.
Doesn't BMW have part numbers for thinner spring pads? I think they do.

Yeah, you should be able to run H&R OE's without a problem, but I'm almost positive there is no drop on those springs. You could get some e30 m3 springs, which wouldn't cause any problems, and you would have about a one inch drop.
