My heater has not been like it used to. its been not hot but warm the last few days. Now it has been around 0 degrees out too so that might affect it a little but i figured i would check into the valve and heater core. I have never looked at this since i have had the car (1 year now) so i didn't know if they have ever been replaced. i was given a new valve ( one for the plastic hater core). so i took the dash apart and what not to find that i do not even have a heater core valve. The PO decided to cut the stem off and just run a hose to the heater core. this isn't bad since i don't have A/C and don't need to turn off heat. but today on my way home the heat would not work. it stayed ice cold. i got home and took apart my dash again and checked the inbound and outbound hoses to the heater core to see if they were warm and they were. but no hot are. i fiddled with the controls and still nothing. I'm kinda stumped as to what else could be going on. i checked my coolant levels and they were fine and if there was air in the system I can't imagine the heater core would be getting warm. ill thank you for any help in advance
