I need to replace the fan switch inside the car...the one that turns on the blower so I can get some heat. Car is a 85 323i. Anyone have any information on how to get the old switch out?
thanks for any help,,,,I have been searching, but can only find information on the blower resistor replacement:(
    thanks,

It just pulls out once you pop the HVAC panel off. I have a spare one. How do you know the switch is bad?

Are there screws holding the hvac on? Seems there were some hidden screws somewhere, but I can't remember how to get this thing off:)
The fan blower is not working at all on any speed. I got a switch from the junk yard, so I thought I would give it a try.

Yes, there are four screws behind the vent toggles. Then there are two under the cubby hole, and two behind the top switches (rear defrost, hazards, ect.).

So, no fan at all speeds would indicate no power.

Are you getting power at the fuse? It was fuse 20 for my 1987 325 2.7i

Are you getting power at C204?

Are you getting power at the switch?

I'll look at a specific diagram for your car.

Just got done fixing the fan:), got heat in the e30 again. I had no power to fuse 20, but fuse was good, no power to fan connections. So I replaced the fan switch inside and now I have fan on all four speeds; works and sounds great!
thanks for the help on getting it all out.
Now back to the wiper motor problem:)
