First Project

Hey r3v, I am buying a 1989 325i roller project and I am wondering what I should consider replacing, I am definitely looking to rebuild the engine to teach myself about engines, and definitely doing new brakes, mounts and bushings. Is there anything else I should consider replacing as well other than the things listed? The previous owner only took out the engine and transmission. Any help would be great!

Refreshing the suspension and doing a brake job wouldnt be a bad idea especially if those parts looks tired. I would only rebuild the engine if it needs is. A regasket may be all that it needs. Really the most important thing is not to get overwhelmed. You will find out soon that these things usually take more money and time than you think and its easy to become frustrated and lose motivation.

I have wanted an e30 my whole life, I doubt I will lose motivation but thank you for the advice. Money will be the only thing keeping me from really completing it because college student.
