When it rains it pours... Yesterday, I left my complex and my car would not shift out of first (auto). It's like I had it in first. I haven't had the chance to check the fluid again yet but did just a couple of days ago. Should I freak out now about my tranny going out or can this be a few other, not-so-major, problems? (yes, I know if it's out I can swap to manual now but financially I am no where near ready)

I say check the most obvious which would be the fluid level. This needs to be done with the engine running and the tranny warm so you have to drive around the block a couple of times.Renting my rear wheel bearing tool kit. SIR

It could be the valve body on the transmission. Take it to a shop and have them check it.
