guage cluster issues

ok so i got my lights all figured out and fixed so now i have to fix my guages. heres whats wrong:
1.)gas guage stays pinned at empty
2.)tach doesnt work
3.)MPG doesnt work
4.)temp guage doesnt work
5.)sometimes when i put my left turn signal on, random lights blink on the cluster(service interval lights, inspection light, brake lining)
6.)speedo works fine but i believe it mite be off a little, the previous owner put 16's on it with 195/50ZR16's so i believe they are a little bit too small which would be the cause of the inaccuracy

check fuses, then pull the cluster out and check all connections, I got a cluster for a 1986 325es, so if ya wanna look into that give me a PM.

i checked all my fuses and they are all good. my connections are all good behind the cluster also. i was thinking that it was the SI board but when i took it out, i found the new style lithium battery board. i called up the previous owner and he told me that that SI board had been replaced within the last 6 months. could the batteries have been dead when the board was replaced? also would any older bmw cluster work in my car? the scrapyard has about 10 bimmers sittin there and id be willing to spend 10 bucks on one if it would fit. thanks....Nick
