Awhile back I was getting stuff out of the trunk of my e30. I slammed down the trunk and BAM...it banged but did not lock. My minutes of fumbling with the trunk lock has caused the lock to click over. I looked and the lock mechanism was clicked over so when the trunk came down, the lock latch would not click into place. Instead the latch contacted the clicked over mechanism and made a bang.
If I recall, I pulled the entire thing and messed around with it...then realized that I did not need to pull the cylinder...I could have clicked over the cylinder another way...I forget exactly how.
Well, now I have a god damn Chrysler Sebring I'm selling tomorrow (auto dealer). Do you believe I somehow managed to cause the same situation only this time with the door lock. However, I forget how I went about
I'd like to avoid pulling off the door panel and pulling the entire mechanism. Isn't there a way to click this thing back over easily. Some way with a flathead? I tried prying it over and it aint happening.
Hopefully someone experienced a similar problem but unlike me rememberes how to fix it.
