    Power steering help!

Ok lately I've been getting a terrible creaking from my Power steering. Well today we did a groupd drive and I check it out, come to find out when the creaking happens the whole Power steering pump LOCKS up. Sitting in a parking lot or moveing slowly and if I turn the wheel either direction There is a Terrible metal on metal screeching sound. Fluid is topped off, any ideas. I've got a spair pump so I'll probally just replace it.

Are you sure it's a metal on metal sound, and not the belt squealing???
    Check the belt tension..
Has the pump ever been ran low?

If you have a spare pump you're in good shape.

Yes I'm sure it's not the belt squeling, completly different sound. belt tension is good, brand new belt, never run low.

Ya I'm almost positive it's the pump. I just cut the belt and tried it out and no creaking. I may just remove the pump completly and pack the lines with grease Like i did to my 318i, I'll see how it drives when I go back to class tonight.
