Hello - I purchased a nice new rubber cover for my ignition coil, however how do I install it over the existing boot? does the boot somehow pull off?

It goes over the small rubber boot on the coil wire. The boot should slide down the coil wire, exposing the actual metal connector. You'll have to either cut this off, slide everything on, then crimp on a new one, or you might be able to un-crimp the connector and then just crimp it back on.
Alternatively, you could slit the big rubber boot enough to fit the smaller boot through, but then it wouldn't be sealed anymore really.

Andrew - thanks for the reply. Not quite the answer I was hoping for, but never the less, now I know what I am up against. I will try sliding the coil boot up the coil wire and have a look at what is involved with un-crimping then re-crimping the connection.Mike
