left turn signal light doesn't work

A couple weeks ago I noticed that my left interior turn signal light stopped working. The signal still "clicks" when it's on, just no light blinking. The right turn signal works perfectly. All exterior bulbs still work correctly.

Yesterday I pulled the cluster and switched/swapped the bulbs with no fix. I tried to scrape the metal contact surface but that didn't help either.

This problem is so strange to me because all the other gauge cluster electronics seem to work. I replaced the SI battery a couple years ago and it hasn't acted up since. The only problems I can think of would be a bad ground somewhere, bad relay (it still clicks though, wouldn't it not click or make a loud humming sound if it wasn't working?), bad trace somewhere on the cluster, or bad SI board. (Again)

    Thanks for any help!

I have the same problem, and also my speedometer sometimes drops out, and if I hit the cluster it comes back, so I'm assuming it's a bad trace on the board in my case, since the speedometer line runs right next to the ones for the signal light. I haven't opened it up again since I tightened the ground nuts which didn't work.

Yep, my tach went out the other night on the interstate. I banged it a few times and it eventually came back on.

Today I plugged the cluster back in and the light started working. ::sigh::

Resolder the connections where the plugs connect on the board. Happened to me for the tach and left signal, after the car warmed up a while or if sitting under the sun, everything worked fine.

Touch the soldering tip and let some new solder flow over the old, it will fill in the cracked areas.

just put some flux on it and reflow it.

my new e30 has the same issue; no interior left turn signal. It's probably a solder joint somewhere.
          paint sucks
