I have been trying to get my car running the past couple weeks after changing the head gasket and am having a hard time. I think the gas is old because the car has had a full tank for over a year and a half... I was going to jump the fuel pump to drain the tank but it wasn't working very efficiently and i assumed it was because i have a miata battery that is about 50% discharged so i hooked up my battery to a friend's car while it was running to give it extra juice and the pump turned on but wouldn't pump anything except air. I unhooked the batteries and it still turns but again is only pumping air. Did i fry my fuel pump??
