    E30 fuel system problem

I have a 91 e30 325i and am having trouble somewhere with the fuel system. The car will only start if you pump the gas and it takes a long time. Also it has a low idle for the first couple minutes after starting it. While driving the car does not perform like normal and will sputter and pop or bog down if you give it too much gas. I replaced the fuel filter, fuel injection relay, cap and rotor. I would love if you could help tell me what my problem is

Huge vacuum leak would be a safe bet.

Where could I look for vacuum leaks at?

Have a shop perform a smoke test for you if you do not know how. E30 has many places that contribute to vacuum leaks.

I have had the same problems. My car was hard to start when cold and I had to pump the gas to make it start. If my car sat for more than 3 days the hard starts would happen. The hard starts got worst until the car could not sit more than 8 hours. I finally bought new fuel injectors and that solved my hard start problems.

If the vacuum leak is that bad you might be able to find it by inspecting stuff like the rubber boot (make sure to check the underside!) and vacuum hoses. Just recently I had a leak from the gas evap purge line going into the underside of the throttle body. That hose was really clearly ripped.
