After replace of Clutch Master Cylinder, questions

    1. The height is now higher than normal, much higher than the brake pedal

    2. When I press on it, there is a dead feel of about 1/2" before I actually feel the clutch on my foot

What could be causing this, any adjustments?

    Thanks guys.

I got it from Bavarian Auto. They know their parts. e replaced the slave, master and pressue hoses.

Yes, we bled it many times. In fact, this is the 2nd cylinder, the first one we installed 2 weeks ago went bad. So I told them they sent us a defective unit, and got a new one.

I wonder if this might be causing it. Like pulling the cylinder more than it should. I'm just afraid that the new one will go bad again. I hope not. Any more thoughts?

Is there an adjustment at all?

Thanks again. You guys are the best when it comes to getting answers!!!

I Never buy from BavAuto. Even though they have that nifty thing that makes hte site only show parts specifically for your year/model, they STILL wind up sending me the wrong part.

There is the stop at the top of the travel, that the clutch switch is connected to.
When I did my clutch master, I think I remember having to bend that out of the way tp gain some clearance. Perhaps you did the same thing, and haven't bent it back into place?

Is the pedal coming back up and contacting the switch or not?

              PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

The clutch switch has a spring around it that gives the tension to the pedal play. By tightening the screw by the spring, we were able to adjust it height back to normal as the brake pedal!!!
