Help! UnderCarRightNow I can't get my steering shaft back on

After my lovely meeting of mr curb afew weeks back I've been replacing everything under the car one by one and now I've come to the final thing! The damn rack and pinion I have a new one cleaned it up made sure the boots were great went to put it back on and I can't for the lfie of me find any way to get the thing to go back onto the steering shaft. I made sure the tiny little splines are all lined up but no amount of pushing is doing it and I can't fit any tools in there. If anyone knows how I can pull this one off I'd appreciate, I really dont want to drop that subframe again.

you need to jam a wedge into the slot of the aluminum steering kunckle. it makes this alot easier, trust me....
