Who makes a 245/40 R16?

Even Dunlop doesnt make them in anything less than $200 a tire custom.

I am trying to find something in 225/45 in the front and 245/40 in the back. for less than $130 a tire if possible. I dont need an special tread since these are basically summer only tires but they do have to be street legal.

When I was searching Tirerack, it seemed that the Yokohama ES100's came in almost any size I wanted.

I'm sure you have tried 245/45-16 already at Tirerack, huh? If its 245, maybe you need a different sidewall ratio, like 40? Since the width of the tire is a lot wider.

Just took a look, and that's what you have. Yeah, there are 245/45-16's, but no 40's... Anyone else?

I was looking for this tire size the other day, no one I saw makes it. The closest you are going to get is 245/45-16, and there are a plethora of tires in that size, due to it being a factory size for 80's Porsche 911s.

How much taller is the 245/45 than stock? 40s are just under 1% smaller and the 225/45s are supposed to be about perfect.

Would it be noticeable that the wheel/tire combo is bigger in the back?

As for fitament I am more worried about the front. I have a whole centimeter to the trailing arm in back with 225s and with rolled fenders I have about a centimeter there but since I have high arches I have to really load up to tuck tire and the camber just gets more and more negative.

Now if only I can pry the engine from Barrett's cold dead hands so I would have to power to use 245s. :roll:

Edit: what is the verdict on the Yoks? Noisy, sticky, last well?

Ugh, the only thing they list both for is the Kuhmos. The Yoks they have two different tires listed for 225 and 245. Dunlop makes the sport 8000 but not in 225s, or at least Tirerack doesnt carry it.

ES100's rock. Maybe run a 215 up front? I swear Yokohama makes a 225/45-16.

Is 22545 and 24545 going to work/look good or should I hold out for 24540?

I think going a little oversizd out back would look fucken sweet. You may have some clearance problems, but I think it would be well worth it for the look. Just roll the shit out of your fenders and, if you have to, add a few spring pads to raise the back up a little.

You're not going to find a 245/40. If they don't make it now, they probably won't make it in the near future. Go 245/45.
