    What's the part # for O2 sensor for 87 325(e)?

I checked realoem and found: 11 78 1 286 638, but then I went to pelicanparts.com and their website says that this number applies to 84-86 eta models. However, all their sensors for 87+ years are for "i" engines. They seem to be missing the 87-88 eta engines.

I tried calling the local dealer and they gave me a number for the "i" engine when I told them "oxygen sensor for 1987 325". Can anybody resolve this for sure? I'm pretty sure it's the first PN I posted, but I don't want my uncle to be out $115 + tax. Thanks.

ETK Lists the first number. Dealer probably misunderstood it was for an ETA.

Someone once told me that you can put an o2 sensor from a ford mustang in an e30 and it will work perfectly, and it's a fraction of the price of a bmw one. I have no idea if that's true, but it made me pretty mad...I would die before I'd put ford parts in my car. The guy that told me had an e30, too.

Sorry to clutter the thread, just a thought.

Ford parts in an e30 ..........hmmmm.You do realize that the o2 is made by Bosch not ford or bmw. Same goes for many other fuel system components that are interchangeable.
