Removed steering wheel, reinstalled, and now steering is tight?

I've recently removed my steering wheel to replace my turn signal flasher, and after putting everything back together my steering feels a little tight. Is it possible that I may have over tightened the steering wheel? Or does that even matter. What about the alignment of the splines? If it was off from where the splines line up, will it effect my steering?

I have a 1990 325i with power steering.. And yes I have a power steering leak, but the change of my steering wheel being Tight from before and after the removal of steering wheel is really noticeable.

Any thoughts?

When you were switching things out, maybe a cord, screw, or bolt got jammed in there somewhere. Take everything out again, and put it back together again. I can't tell you how many times I tried to fix something and failed or caused another issue; just to take it apart again and find the issue or even more strange: put everything back together without doing anything different and it works!
