    Washer fluid level warning light?

Can someone please help me get my washer fluid warning light to stay off?

My car hasn't had a windshield washer system in years, no bottle, pump, anything, so it has been quite the surprise that recently my car has began intermittently alerting me a the lack of washer fluid. I read up on it, and supposedly the violet/red wire comes from the check panel, and the level sensor just grounds to the brown wire when the system has fluid. My meter doesn't show ground at the brown wire, so I tried grounding out the violet/red and got sparks. I am now at a loss, unsure if I got bad info or what. Can anyone help?

I live in SoCal and hand-wash my windshield often, so adding the washer stuff isn't a priority for me.

I used a paper clip and it got rid of my light. I'm early model though

You could just get the float sensor without a tank and tape it closed I guess.

If you grounded the sender wire and out sparked, you have wiring issues.
