Coolant leaking out of top of reservoir sensor? Just new sensor?

Is the fix usually as simple as a new sensor or deeper issue. The car is not overheating and seems fine otherwise.

The sensor could just be loose or the sealing surfaces dirty. Try to clean it up first before replacing it.

Does the sensor tighten on the tank correctly when installed? The plastic threads on the tank can strip, or the tank can crack at that location.

I had a similar issue, because the threads got bent/stripped. I just threw some RTV sealant on it (Permatex Ultra Grey). It cleans up pretty easily if you ever decide to remove it.
