Stumbling Idle

Hey I just started having this wierd problem. When I go out and start my car, it will start fine, settle into a nice steady idle, and then start acting like it has a high degree cam in it. The revs will drop to about 500, and it will start to sound like it is dying. If I give it gas, it will then stammer up to about 3k, and then I get full power.
This doesnt happen everytime though, so I am stumped.
Any ideas?

What are the symptoms of a bad coil?
