4 to 5 Lug Swapp Parts -Ultra Lowbuck-Quesions!

Since I decided to put the T.Stars 17 M5 in my bimmer I know the rear E36 or Z3 bearing and hubs will fit in the e30 arm with out affecting the offset(correct me if I'm wrong).
Also, in the rear , the E36 comes with one or two bearings per side? I think is one fat bearing, isn't it?

For the front I'm stucked , I mean I was wondering to swapp the complete E36 strut McPherson disk and calipers. but looks like it will give more offset and will have to shave my wheels about 20mm, thing that I won't do, also my almost new konis adjustable shocks won't be re used witht the e36 strut since them are incompatible, isn't it?

So, I wonder if the E36 front hub and bearing will fit in the stock strut of the e30 like in the back..? or maybe make the E30M3 hub and bearing fit , is possible?

    Thanks

EDIT: I won't use or buy used E30M3 parts since them are not available over here (no M3 tottaled)

only E36 compact models have the rear suspension that will fit. "Regular" E36's (sedans and such) have multi link rear suspension and wont swap over.

There was a guy named Dilberto (Zach) on Roadfly that used 5 Series hubs in the front. Here you go:

The entire Z3 rear suspension will bolt right up to the E30. Even the rear hubs, bearings, are the same offset and size. On the front, the E30 M3 struts, swaybar, and hubs also bolts onto the E30. The latter is quite expensive- but worth it. Post 86' 5-series front rotors are compatible to the stock E30 spindles. However, the trick is modifying the calipers/mounts to accomodate the larger rotors.

Spindals are the front hub assemblies, where they are attached to the strut housing.

              Splines? Ha, typical Jeeper. ;)

who really cares about the e28 stuff if you have to mod the brake caliper brakets to fit, jacking with the brakes, and unproven untested parts is just not somthing I would feel like doing.

Seriously if it broke, it would probally be under hard breaking...just when you need them....

This may be a crazy question, but what about swapping complete e28/e34 strut assemblies

                            Diego,
There is no easy way to do it.
                            The 2 options are:
                            1. E30 M3 parts
                            2. E36 Compact/Z3 parts

                            Don't mix the 2 together.

Yes the Z3/compact wheel bearings ar ethe same as the E30 but the drive flange (with the lug holes) has the extra offset.

I'm using the E36 parts to do my conversion, I also don't want to loose my Koni's up front so I have a pair of old E36 shocks that I am modifying to take the koni inserts.
This process involves degassing/oiling the shocks, chopping the top off, removing all the internals (connected to the stancion) and adding spacers to the bottom of the empty tube and welding a new locking collar for the koni on to the strut (avaliable frm Koni)
and While you are at it you may as well convert to coilovers in the front.

                            My 2c.
                            292rwhp E30 :D
