    Remote Central Locking - OEM BMW

    Hi all,

    My 1990 325i SE is fitted with an oem factory bmw branded alarm unit with keyless entry (remote central locking). Until last week, the remote central locking was working perfectly.. but all of a sudden its stopped. I can still operated the central locking with the key, so doesn't seems to be the central locking unit. I am swaying more towards the alarm unit.

    Behind the glovebox is part no 82119418403 and a further smaller unit which connect to it as well which is part no 82119418402.

    ...403 comes back to the Alarm Control Unit
    ...402 comes back as no trace, real oem states the part no doesn't exist

    I have checked the power feed to this alarm unit, all seems to be fine. And I've checked all the fuses.. nothing has blown!

    From a bit of digging I have found out that the version I have fitted is a 3g MK1 alarm.

    Can anybody help me? Any ideas what the problem is??

    I suspect this might be a dealer job. I've never seen any documentation on the OE kit, so trouble shooting is going to be difficult.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        Aaghh I hoping not to visit the dealer, but if I have to! I can't find any documentation for it either, so I guess only the dealer will have them on their technical systems.

          Batteries are fine, the first thing I did was replace them with brand new ones hoping it would be simple fix!

            Given the age of the car and the lack of available documentation a dealer is really your best option. In addition to their readily available documentation they have access to NA tech reps and even the factory.

              I'll speak to my BMW Specialist first, he's an ex bmw master technician so hopefully he'll have an idea if not I'll book in with the dealer.

              Thanks guys, if anybody has any other ideas just let me know

                Chances for a current bmw tech to figure this one out might pose a challenge. You need an old school tech whos familiar with these oldies. Good idea to visit ur friend master tech.
                he might be familiar with this set up.
