M42 Tune-up, car stalling - need quick help

<<edit>> It turned out when I changed the air filter I guess the (vacum?) hose going from the air intake to the block came out. I put it back and it runs normally.

Hi,
I did my annual tune up tonight of changing the air filter and putting new plugs in. I've done it several times before and it's always been quick and easy. But tonight I start the car up and it seems to idle fine so I take it out for a quick test drive and it stalls at the light. Then I stalls at all stops getting it back home. Some times the check engine light came on, then went off. The car doesn't seem to be missing, but after short driving it stalls and/or can have acceleration delayed slightly. After calling someone he thought it was probabaly on the changing the air filter side of things not on the plugs side.
Anyone have any ideas, suggestions? Like I said I need to get this running tonight, gotta work in the morning.
