Fuel level gauge with fuel cell

Long story short short, because I'm carb'd I'm running a non return fuel system. Ive decided to ditch the stock tank in favor of an 8 gallon aluminum fuel cell with 90ohm level sender built in. That being said, what should I do about a level gauge? I have a late model with dual level sender's from the factory. Is there anyway to use the stock gauge? Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks!

To get an accurate fuel level display on the existing gauge I think you'd need some custom electronics that makes the 90ohm sensor look like what the gauge expects.

From memory (I don't have my reference at hand) the dual sensor tank indicates full at zero ohms and 112 ohms at empty (the sensors are wired in series). I suspect that your 90ohm sensor works just the opposite and indicates full at 90 and 0 at empty. So you can see there is going to be a challenge here if you use the stock gauge.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I've used a fuel cell with aftermarket sender. I just used an autometer gauge though. I'm sure you could wire in a resistor to get it to work with the factory cluster. Just figure out what the stock sending unit puts out.
