    AC Issue

I am not getting the compressor to turn on. Fuse 20 is good and has voltage on both sides. There is no power at the white wire on the back of the ac switch, and there is no power at the pressure switch at the drier. What is my next step? The blower motor is blowing.

    Thanks

Are either the dash or footwell sliders to the right?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I am pretty sure the dash one was to the right, where should they be?

Either must be to the right for the AC to be enabled. The wiring diagrams from http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm will be helpful in figuring out what is happening.

I tried that, still no luck. Will have to dig into that link and see what I can find I guess.

I just went through exactly that.
            Check this thread out:

TL; DR: The white wire comes from contacts on the door sliders which can get crappy and corroded over time. I bypassed mine with a jumper. I haven't looked at the other years yet, but the contacts are *NOT* depicted in the '88 ETM.
