    Crazy power windows....help me!

I need some help. My #17 fuse blows when I put the driver side window down all the way. Last time this happened I changed the fuse and back up it went. Today I had both front windows all the way down and sure as shit the fuse blew. I got home changed the fuse. And the driver side went up. But the passenger side is stuck all the way down. I tested the left rear window and it did the same thing went down but not up. The other thing is the new fuse is not blown and 2 windows don't go back up... Do I need new motors in these windows? help...

If your fuse goes out, it means something on the circuit is drawing too much power. If this happens when you are lowering your window, and nothing else on that circuit is turned on (I don't have a fuse map in front of me so I'm not sure if there's anything else which uses that fuse) I would say your window motor should be replaced. What I've learned from the HVAC blower motor going out is electric motors draw more current when they get old. Your window motor may be old, drawing more current than normal, which would be burning out the fuse. But check to see if you have any unnatural draws before spending the money to replace it

I would add to check to see if the lift mechanism is moving free. Mine was very difficult to move and I think that is what took my motor out. You may need to take the entire mechanism out but if you're replacing the motor you're pretty much there anyway.

Well it turns out my switches are causing the bulk of this issue, they are shot. Either work half way or not at all. I noticed clicking in one switch and have had all windows tested on my one good switch and they operated just fine. So 3 new switches it is. I hope this is the end of this issue!!!!!
