stupid Fuel line question

Quick question, after doing some work on my car im down to one little question. I have the two fuel lines here to hook up, ones harder than the other. So im guessing that that's from the pump and the softer one is the return line....


so the hard (the one from the fuel pump) goes directly to the fuel rail and the soft one (the return line) goes onto the fuel pressure regulator...


am i right or am i right? I am seccond guessing myself becuse i tried to start it as mentioned above and i sprung a fuel leak near the pump...

I don't know that I would use the hardness of the line to identify it.
I would follow the line from the main pump to the front.
The line from the pump goes into the fuel rail, and the other comes off the regulator.
