Front License Plate Bracket for Metal Bumper.

    Hi guy's,

I did a search to try to find what I was looking for, but I couldn't find any information that helped. I was also completely unsure of where to post this, so I figured here would be best.

I need a license plate mounting bracket for the front of my 89 325i. However, I've come across two parts that claim to do the same thing, but I'm unsure as to which one is the proper part.

    Here's one:

    and here's the other:

I'm totally confused. What's the difference between the two?

    Thanks,

    Steven

For your car, a '89 325i the second ebay listing has the proper plate bracket for your car. The first one is intended for early model, diving board cars while the one is what you need for your plastic bumper late model.

Since thread title says bracket for metal bumper,I assume he has metal bumpers on his 89. So he needs the FIRST ONE, not second one.

89s would normally have plastic bumpers, but verts had metal bumpers through 1990. Judging from his user name, I'd say he has a vert, so he needs the first bracket.

Sorry I didnt clarify which body style. I wasn't aware convertibles held onto the metal bumper longer. I've mostly been an E36 guy, with the exception of my first E30, which was an M3. Yes, my 89 325i is a convertible. Thanks for the help, guys!
