Dropping Fuel Tank - Sanity Check?

Just a quick check on dropping fuel tank from a 91 318. Should this be able to come out without dropping the subframe?

I'm sure I've got everything disconnected but seems it's catching on the top of the subframe while butted up against the front of the well / back seat. Just some tricky geometry/angles?

    Thanks!

I dropped mine (89 IX) without removing the subframe.

It is a tight fit, but it should come out.

You will need to drop the exhaust and the driveshaft. Replace any bad hoses and get new hose clamps. You may need to cut a few of the oem ones and they aren't reusable.

I dropped one in a 91 318iS. It was tricky, but it came out. Exhaust and driveshaft were out.

You will need to drop it at an angle to clear the subframe. I think you have to push the front up and pull the side nearest the subframe out first. You will need to clip a few hose clamps in the process and disconnect some hoses. I had 2 friends help me drop it.

Yea it should just lean down itself and then you just angle it until it starts to give. Just be patient and look at all edges to make sure it's not getting caught. And obviously exhaust and driveshaft out
