    M30 AFM in Eta

is this possible, if so is there a write up?

I can get one for a good price so i thought i would ask.

    Has this ever been done?

its a bloody eta, prolly won't do shit, plus the eta afm electronics are different from the m20b25/m30 electronics anyway, so you would have to swap the boards out.

    not worth it at all

Super ETA uses an I AFM, so it would work, dunno the gains though

i got my M30 AFM for $30 and I did the swapon my eta...

it's a simple swap. just open it up, swap electronics and play w/ the spring tension and air screw to tune it.

Why on earth do people continue to distinguish between "i" afms and "e" afms. NEWS FLASH: The i and e afms are the same, they always have been. I have corrected this statement a dozen times it seems over the past year.

I guess I'll be the first to say how you have concluded this?I part 20+ cars a year and have yet to have a single
eta AFM work on an "i" and vice versa.(With the exception of super eta.)Before you ask yes all the AFM were tested on my personal cars for full functionality before I sold them.
Not arguing just interested in the story behind your statement. This could lead to more sales for me!

They are not electrically identical, ask any BMW tech, I have even tried an I AFM in an ETA, didn't run for more then 2 seconds, same visa versa.

EDIT: read your reply, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME, sure the casing/door is the same, but its not the same part.....
