    No Pressure in AC

I replaced the receiver/dryer and the low pressure line and now I can't get the system to build any pressure. It would pressurize fine before I replaced it. Any ideas as to what may be causing it? O-Rings are new.

Did you pull a vaccuum? The system has to have this done anytime it has been cracked (exposed to outside air).

What would pulling a vacuum have to do with the system building pressure with the compressor?

Is there an easy way to pull a vacuum with something I can get from autozone or someplace similar? I'd prefer not to have to pay shop labor for some tool to hook up a vacuum and flip a switch.
