Is my SI board shot?

[IMG][/IMG]Hey guys so took my vdo apart to replace the batteries in the SI board. Once I got them off I found this. Should I replace the board or is it still usable? It was working ok before just some tach and fuel jumping. I really don't want to drop a hundred plus bucks on a SI.

Does anyone know if the batteries are in parallel or series. I'm gonna try and solder in a nicd battery I have laying around with wires to it. But I have 2 kind a 3v and a 1.5v.
