    Indecisive cluster

    My 85 ETA... can never decide on its cluster readings... haha

    the water temp will "wander" and so will the fuel. And if i make a sharp right turn... sometimes the right side of hte cluster will go dark

    my odometer and tripmeter doesn't work either (but i already searched the answer for that one)

    I think my easiest fix would be to get a new cluster no?

    I have a motometer now... and from my understanding... any cluster will work from any e30 (except M3). The only thing that I don't understand is this "code pill" thing I might have to change?

    the code pill. is i believe for the tachometer only.. just get a new cluster from a pre-88 e30

      stupid crappy BMW pcb's. if u do get another one it will probaly be in about the same condition or worse if its old. im on my second bmw (both 84's) and both have had issues with the instrument cluster in both. If you go get one dont expect it to be in prsitine shape thats all im sayin.

        gotcha.... well my first concern is to get the odometer working again... and i don't want to spend 75 bucks on 3 little gears.... hence why i'd rather just get a new cluster
