    Fuel economy…

What should I replace to ensure I’m getting optimal fuel economy? Air filter? Spark plugs? …

Also, I had the hood up the other day while the car was running and I could smell a gas odor – is this common? There doesn’t appear to be any gas dripping/leaking but the odor of gas is evident.

    I’m getting terrible mileage.

    TIA

    Fuel filter, AFM, FPR....

I wouldn't drive another mile until you figure out where that smell is coming from. You shouldn't smell gas at all. The flashpoint of gasoline is really low, so driving the car when you smell fumes is pretty dangerou.

Yes, as mentioned, there should be no gas smell.

Check your fuel injectors as they spring a leak sometimes.

Also check any fuel lines, including the return and going to the carbon canister for cracks. A lot of the time they dry out and crack and go unnoticed.

There was a crack in one of the rubber fuel lines. All fixed !
