Why does my shockmount keep breaking?

It has been replaced over three times in the last month. Its on the same side everytime. I havent hit any potholes or other obstructions. I know mississippi's road suck ass but this is getting ridiculous. The top of the shock mount just keeps pressing through the mount itself.

Kris, what brand are those RSMs? Are you sure you are installing them properly? (No offence there, man, just asking.)

I am using a cone washer on either side of the rubber part, so mine are not correct, but have had no issues in 12,000 miles.

There is a plate, or large washer, that must be installed above and below the rear shock mounts or they will fail very quickly. They are part numbers 6 and 12 in the diagram at the URL below.

We put washers on, and its installed correctly. We will just have to pull the damn thing off and take another look. We used just and oem cheap mount. It was new.

Get a different brand, and use e46 m3 mounts.
