    Temperature sensor

I had to disconnect my temperature sensor on my E30 325 is becuase that plastic tube it was in, kept falling out. Does anyone know if that's ok to drive without one? I mean will the car fully function without it's readings?
I don't care if it can't tell me what temperature it is outside as long as it's gonna drive without it...

The temperature sensor can be broken and the car will drive. I wouldn't worry about it. I'd fix that tube if you want to keep the sensor working, but if you don't care, don't worry about it.

If this is the temperature sensor that the OBC uses for the fuel mixture you may run a little rich because it will always read the car as being cold.

It's the one that is located in a plastic tube inside the front bumper. Is it used by the OBC?

The OBC Temp sensor is 100% different then the 2 coolant temp sensors on the engine harness.

Thats for the OBC, and ONLY the OBC.

So should I put it back?

If you want an outside temp reading, then yes, if not, no.

I took all my obc crap out, never used it.

                  Thanks!
I was worried for a moment about what kommissar said about running rich. So that wouldn't happen, right?

In saying, "if this is the temperature sensor the OBC uses for the fuel mixture" I didn't know which sensor you were talking about; there are a ton of them and I was just saying look out for the one that the Motronic uses.

You will be fine. If James said the sensor is used only for the OBC then it is only used by that component.
