    flushing cooling system

    what is the proper way to drain, flush, and refill the cooling system on a 86 325

    I used the bleeder valve on top of the thermostat. I dont know if it is the "right way" or not but worked for me. Keep adding fluid to your resevoir while the motor is running. Once fluid starts coming out the bleeder valve replace screw and fill resevoir to max line. did mine this way a month ago and fluid level in resevoir dropped to about halfway, but I havent had to add any or had any cooling problems. Good luck.

      that's the way to bleed the system. You want to completly drain the system, there are 2 drain plugs on on the bottom of the radiator and one on the engine block near the back end of the exhuat side of the block. Pull both plugs, and then run some fresh watter threw the system to flush anything out. Reinstall plugs, fill, and bleed.
