    Is cruise control dependent on whether or not the inst. cluster is in?

    I took my cluster out bc i'm replacing it and i tried my cruise control and it doesn't work. I guess it needs to receive the current speed from the cluster in order to work, right?

    correct, cruise won't work untill you go above 30mph

      Si senor there's one wire that sends the signal that plugs into the rear part of the speedo cluster. You need it plugged.
