    Over heating? Need answers.

Prior to this "overheat", I forgot to turn on my electric fan so the car overheated and a small rip opened up on my upper radiator hose. The coolant flew out and the steam was released through that hole.

I got the hose replaced and the system bled. I had the car on for 30 plus minutes and I drove around... no problems. (Below 30 degrees by the way)

This morning I drove to work... no problem. (Just about 30 degrees)

Driving back home the needle would raise when I'm in traffic and go back down when I'm driving in high speeds. It got all the way to 2nd to last bar so I decided to pull over and turn the car off. Waited awhile for it to cool down to proceed. (About 60 degrees)

I don't know if this is normal because it's hotter outside or what. This wasn't happening on my way to work when it was about 30 degrees.

I got home and removed the cap while running, I decided to go to the car wash and at this time the temp is down and it's a bit cooler (under 50 degrees)... needle is steady just a little bit pass the 2nd bar before the middle. The car was on for maybe less then an hour with regular driving. But I couldn't do that on the way home. So I don't know...

    Thermostat? Head gasket?

I've done some searching but some issues are different or/and nobody posted the fix. The thread died.

Thanks in advance. By the way I have a M30B35 engine.

I would say just bleed the system again. Try a new t-stat if you want

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheels

i would check the clutch fan and the electronic fan.

normally when it cools down when your driving it is a fan problem.

No fan clutch, but I'll check the electric fan.
