    Hard starting problem

Just sayin hey, ive been lurking here for awhile now but finally have been forced to post . The car is an '89 325i. Anyway, i did a search and havent found much about my problem. The car cranks over many many times before it will fire up. it always starts just cranks forever and it seems to help if i tap the gas pedal a few times. the problem gets better if its got some heat in it but never totally disappears. Is there something that typically needs to be replaced on these? possibily a cold start injector or idle air problem? I vw cleaned out the IACV and have watch it moving but i guess it could still be bad. ive been meaning to pick up a bentley but time is not on my side recently. thanks for the help!

an 89 doesnt have a cold start injector, the DME just lengthens the plulse width of the inmjectors to compensate, I think it uses the FI coolant temp sensor to tell when the engione is cold... try testing it with an ohm meter across its leads

its the one on the thermostat housing that is closest to the valve cover

i dont know the values off hand so i consult your bentley for that or somebody on here might be nice enough to open theirs up as im at school right now and cant
