first off, yes i read the official aux fan wiring thread front to back.
http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=210783
have an 85, ac removed, trying to put the aux fan back in to help with cooling after hard driving, traffic, etc. still have clutch fan.
the wiring to the low speed k1 relay isn't right. also, the stock switch is only 5 pin, and all the others i found are 8 pin. i don't have the original switch.
tested continuity and voltage;
tested the high speed k6 relay and it looked good
30 hot
85 ground
86 high temp sender
87 fan
but the low speed k1 looked like this
30 hot
85 low temp sender
86 ground, 4 out of 5 pins on ac switch plug also ground
87 fan
high and low temp senders in radiator get volts and have continuity to relays.
i jumped pins on the relays and got the fan to fire on high and low.
couldn't use the ac switch to activate the fan. wrong switch anyway. tried jumpers from hot to any other pin on plug.
haven't tested the temp senders to see if they will turn on the fan, low probably won't, high probably will.
i pulled the fuse block open to see what was going on, looked fine. not tampered with.
i double and triple checked twice!
i'm goddammed flummoxed.
i really want to use factory wiring if i can, cause it's already there and would work great, if it worked.
heres a shitty diagram;
