Clutch question for high hp engines.........

I'm curious to know what clutches you guys are running in your higher hp E30's. I'm considering the Sachs Power Clutch but if the standard 325i clutch will work then I'll go that route.

Stu, I noticed that you kept your Getrag 260 when you did your swap....what clutch are you using? Any slippage?

    Thanks!!

well how much power are you putting out?, the stock clutch can handle up to about 300hp, personally after about 275hp i'd make a swap to the power clutch.

this is if my memory serves me correctly. please correct me if i am wrong.

      187rwhp, 202rwtq....it's in my sig.

The 325i stock clutch is rated at a max 190bhp by Sachs but they were not the only OE manufacturer.

My current clutch is for a 320i (E30) and the Sachs one is rated at a max of 150bhp......btw, it is slipping badly.

Yeah, Sachs HD clutch is what I have, but sooner or later I'll be swapping an OBDI S52t, so I might need it ;)

Where did you get the Sachs HD from? I think they are discontinued now and replaced with the Sachs Sport clutch (which is only sold in the US btw). Rest of the world only gets the super high end Sachs Performance line clutches from Sachs Race Engineering....but cost mucho dinero :(

I've had a Centerforce dual friction clutch kit in my 325 and loved it. Its supposed to be 90% stronger than stock and was still very easy to drive. Not sure if you can get centerforce stuff in your part of the world though.

Wanna share any useful info? Cause I was decided on the OEM Sach's clutch, but it depends on the price of the HD.

How did everything work out with you?
