    Exhaust moving A LOT

So the damn exhaust moves a ton.

Both the rubber donuts holding the muffler up are new (went in when I did my tranny) and it just moves a TON!

How so I get this bitch tight??

It's designed to be pretty free-if it wasn't the vibration would be transmitted to the occupants. As long as nothing is broke, leave it be. Unless you want a massage!

is the bracket that bolts to the tranny still intact? mine broke once and the exhaust slapped around alot, welded it back up and good as new.

        Everything is there.

I picked up a new hanger - the one that goes below the subframe - and I think that'll do it.

I would be fine with it moving around - but it moves too much. I'm talkin - from one side of the valance to the other. It's scraping the hell out of my tips and makes an odd noise around turns.

What about the bolt that holds the exhaust just before the exhaust? #7 in this pic: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/j/h/7.png

Also there's a 3rd rubber hanger just in front of the muffler that when missing made mine swing quite a bit... #2 in the following: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/j/h/8.png

Good points - would definately cause movement.

But, both are in, good and tight.

I made things readl tight, with a new #2 and evertything.

It still moves quite a bit - but not nearly as much. I think I'll just hold out. All the more reason to go with a completely made exhaust system now. lol
