    Hello i need some assistance :)

    Hello everyone.
    I recently bought 325IX m20
    My question and help that i need are next
    The car wasnt started up for 6 years previous owner says it got overheated and he drove it and poring water every like 10 minutes then he parked it and never try to start it up again
    So im asking here, what to check and what to do before i start it up.
    I was thinking to remove spark plugs and insert some oil if the system is dry and try it
    Before i do that i want to ask u guys i bet u have better exp and more knownlage then me
    So what do i do?

    Timing belt and water pump before you even try starting it. If the belt is rotted out and snaps you will need a new engine. DO NOT start the car without buying a new timing belt, tensioner, and you may as well replace the water pump while you are at it. Plugs, wires and all that should be enough to start it.

    From your description it is leaking coolant somewhere, and it could be the head gasket. The head will likely need to be removed and inspected for damage and warping. If the car overheated there's a good chance the head gasket is toast and possibly the head.

    Otherwise, you should drain the gas tank, perform an oil change, coolant flush, and maybe do the transmission and differential fluid as well.

      I would do a compression test before buying any parts. If it passed the compression test, you can go ahead and replace the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump.

        Don't try starting that engine.

        Drain the coolant (if there's any left), if you see oil in the coolant - new head gasket.

        Drain the oil check for water, if you see any - new head gasket.

        If these are both okay, fill up with fresh oil. Pull the spark plugs, fire some light oil into each cylinder and hand turn the engine while checking that the cam is turning through the oil filler. If the cam isn't turning - new head is likely.

        Change the timing belt, water pump and tensioner but do not refit all the covers and stuff - you may need to tear it all down again.

        Run a compression test, if this is good then finish reassembly with fresh coolant.

        Start her up and diagnose the coolant leak.
